Winbox | 3.28

Industrial PCs and ATMs running old Windows versions cannot run the .NET-dependent newer Winbox versions. Winbox 3.28 requires only basic Win32 API calls and runs on Windows XP SP3 and above.

One of the major complaints with older Winbox iterations was the tendency for the session to freeze or drop when managing a remote router over a high-latency connection (such as a busy wireless link or a VPN over long distances). Winbox 3.28 is a native Windows utility designed for administration of MikroTik RouterOS. Unlike web-based interfaces, Winbox runs as a standalone executable file ( .exe ). It requires no installation, making it highly portable.
