After retiring from touring in 1982, XTC became a "studio band," a transition that birthed some of their most interesting experiments. The Mummer home demos are particularly fascinating; they capture the shift toward the pastoral, acoustic textures of "Love on a Farmboy's Wages" and the atmospheric "Wonderland". xtc discography blogspot
