The community continues developing tools and techniques to extract ever-greater realism from the shader. One of the most immediate signs of a high-quality PBR skin is visual depth. Compared to older shader systems, PBR renders with more noticeable definition and texture. The skin should not look flat or painted on. Instead, pores, fine wrinkles, and micro-details should be visible when viewed up close.
