Tragically, Hillel’s death in 1988 meant these tapes were shelved. A complete session from 1987 at Eldorado Studios in Hollywood remains the most sought-after bootleg among collectors—only three copies of the raw 24-track are rumored to exist.
Perhaps the most prolific period for unreleased music was the mid-2000s, specifically the sessions surrounding Stadium Arcadium. The band reportedly wrote and recorded nearly 40 songs during this time. While many were released as B-sides on the "Jupiter" and "Mars" discs, several others remain in the archives.
