Like most inkjet printers, the Epson L3150 does not simply print; it also maintains itself through cleaning cycles. During these cycles, ink is expelled into a waste ink pad located at the bottom of the printer. To prevent the printer from overflowing and leaking ink onto the user’s desk, Epson programs a page counter that estimates when the pad is full. Once this limit is reached, the printer stops functioning entirely, displaying an error message.
