: Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader on your PC and delete the vendor.xml file. This allows you to install firmware from a different carrier.
If prompted for a password and your device doesn't have one, just leave it blank and click OK. Click the button.
Alternatively, you can visit the official BlackBerry website on your computer and use a web-based tool. A page from the official manual confirms that if your device is associated with the BlackBerry Internet Service, you can visit www.blackberry.com/update and follow the prompts to download and install the software.
Right-click and this file. If you find a second vendor.xml file in your user roaming folder ( %appdata%\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML ), delete that one too. Step 3: Wipe the BlackBerry (Optional but Recommended)
Run the downloaded firmware .exe file on your Windows computer.
