The story follows five hikers—Bagas (Bayu Skak), Lenni (Nadya Arina), Dicky (Firza Valaza), Juna (Benidictus Siregar), and Andrew (Indra Pramujito)—who meet while planning to climb the infamous Gunung Madyopuro. The journey takes a sinister turn when they disregard the warning of a local guard: the group must have an even number of hikers and must never look back, or something will follow them. As night falls on the first of Suro (a significant night in the Javanese calendar), the group becomes lost and realizes a terrifying truth: one of the five is not human.
