PAMJ was founded in 2008 by Dr. Raoul Kamadjeu and Dr. Landry Tsague, two public health specialists who recognized the urgent need for a high-quality, African-led journal. Their goal was not just to create another publication but to build a complete ecosystem to support African researchers and counteract a global publishing industry that often marginalized their work. What began as a vision has grown into one of the biggest open-access general medical journals on the continent.
